So HBO is coming out with a new Harry Potter show soon! It’s going to be much longer than the movies, meaning more epic book stuff. They might even solve a 20-year-old terrifying mystery about Voldemort that the books and movies completely skipped over.
What’s this big mystery?
Do you know how Voldemort was obsessed with living forever? He split his soul into pieces called Horcruxes.
To make them, you kill someone and cast a spell. Easy, right? No! There’s a final step so messy that J.K. Rowling wouldn’t even spill it.
She said it was so messy that it made her publisher start to get oak!
Why can’t they keep it quiet
This new show has a lot of time to delve into the books. But this mystery? It’s pretty dark.
Harry Potter is still for kids, so they probably won’t show anything weird.
Imagine if they made their own version and it was lame? No, it’s best to leave that a mystery.
Another Horrible Voldemort Mystery
Oh, and there’s more! Before Voldemort regained his body in Goblet of Fire, he had a strange baby form. How did he do that?
Rowling says it’s too disgusting to say. My friend Sam says it involved dark potions and creepy rituals in Albania.
Maybe the show will have some clues, but don’t expect the full story!
Cool Things They Could Show Instead
Even if we don’t find out these secrets, there are other things. Like, how did Voldemort end up as a ghost in Albania? And how did Wormtail find him?
Oh, fun fact: some fans think he drank unicorn blood to stay alive! It would be sad to see that on screen.
